Boost Your Confidence!

Boost Your Confidence!

Hey Ladies!

Today we’re diving into something that comes up for women ALL THE TIME– confidence!

I often find myself thinking: “I want to be more confident.”, “She is such a badass, I wish I had an ounce of her confidence.” …The list goes on and on. Have you ever had these thoughts? We ALL want to be more confident. But how?

Here are some tips that may help:

1.     Positive Self-Talk:

Confidence is not based on your actual ability to succeed at something, but your belief in your ability to succeed. Monitor your inner dialogue and replace self-doubt with self-affirmation. Speak to yourself as you would to a close friend – with kindness, compassion, and encouragement. Remind yourself of your strengths, potential, and past successes. Over time, this positive self-talk will become second nature, nurturing your confidence from within.

2.     Dress the part:

Take a moment and picture a woman who oozes confidence, maybe someone you know or a celebrity you’ve seen on a movie. What is she wearing? How does she carry herself? There is data out there that suggest that our clothes and our appearance really do influence our perception of ourselves and our level of confidence. If you look good, you feel good. Get ready for the day, regardless of plans, and wear something that makes you feel like a bad ass.

3.     Surround Yourself with Confident & Supportive People:

The company you keep can have a significant impact on your confidence. Surround yourself with people who believe in you, uplift you, and inspire you to be your best self. There is a saying that you are the average of the top 5 people you surround yourself with. If those people are lacking confidence and self-worth, there’s a good chance you are too. Seek out confident women and feed off their energy, I promise you will notice a difference.

4.     Fake it ’til You Make it:

The single most powerful way to build confidence is to act with the confidence you aspire to have. The only way to build self-confidence is to take a risk and act despite your fear of failure or embarrassment. If things work out, then you now know you can do more than you think. If things don’t work out, you now know that you can handle more than you think. Either way, you’re better off.

People often think of confidence as something that the lucky few are born with, and the rest are left wishing for. Not true. Confidence is not a fixed attribute; it’s the outcome of the thoughts we think and the actions we take. No more; no less.

Now, go out there and be the bad ass woman that you desire to be.

With so much love,

Charli
